Internet Sense For Internet Safety is on for the third year, but with a WHOLE NEW, UNIQUE FORMAT. We are calling it “Unplugged Family Event”.
WHAT SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO HAS BEEN ASKING FOR!
An entertaining evening event that welcomes children!
SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO HAS ALSO EXPRESSED A NEED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT INTERNET SAFETY FOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN!
The London Knights BELIEVE in this event – they have donated an autographed jersey for our auction!!
There will be a buffet dinner (with child-friendly options), live/silent auctions (with items for children and adults), unplugged games, dancing, and more. Have fun with your families and friends!!
Charlene Doak-Gebauer, our Founder and Chair, has developed a theory of Digital Supervision© for child and adult protection, which she presents globally (most recently October 20th in Iceland). She has written a play for adults, children, and families as an introduction to Digital Supervision©. It is appropriate for ALL ages and is about Internet safety. See local children, and students from the Drama Class of Westminster Secondary School perform.
We are asking that no electronic devices (cell phones, iPads and the like) be used for the evening, except pictures. Let’s see how long people can be without these devices that interfere with communications, between adults and within families. We actually have a “FUN FINE POLICE FORCE” to fine people for device use!!
It is going to be a very entertaining evening for all.
We are honouring our Veterans and Armed Forces. We asked Armed Forces personnel if this would be a good date – they said yes. We believe families should experience this together and learn how important it is to be able to have an evening like this because of our DEFENDED DEMOCRACY.
Our policy – “FORGET THE BABYSITTER AND BRING THE KIDS.”
