ALUMNI PRODUCTION

Since its inception in 2010, the Original Kids Alumni project utilizes an intensive rehearsal process and offers a rare opportunity for former members of the Original Kids Main Cast Company to reunite on a mature production which features content that would not be presented with the youth in the Main Cast. Regardless of the route our Original Kids alumni have taken, they carry the memories and influence of OKTC wherever their life path takes them. Their return to the OK community signifies a reconnection with the place their passion for the arts was ignited, and gives inspiration to the current Main Cast members of the productions they may have the opportunity to participate in the future. The courage, emotional commitment and professionalism of the alumni ensemble truly exemplifies the company’s motto “Once an Original Kid, always an Original Kid.”
In its first local production, the TONY Award-winning hit musical is based on Green Day’s GRAMMY Award-winning multi-platinum album, fearlessly advancing the American musical. This electric-rock musical of youthful disillusion dramatizes Johnny, Tunny and Will’s struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world. When the three unsettled men flee their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths diverge. Tunny enters the army, family responsibilities call Michael back home, and Johnny is split between love and a risky friendship.
