On Sunday, June 4, over 20,000 Canadians will unite to send one message – it takes guts to stop the pain, the multiple surgeries, and the missed moments caused by Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.
Over 60 Gutsy Walk sites will be active across the country, including one here in London. Crohn’s and Colitis Canada aims to raise $3.6 million nationally through the Gutsy Walk to support research, patient programs, advocacy, and awareness efforts to better the lives of children and adults affected by these chronic diseases.
At this year’s walk we will have our local honourary chair, Samer, walking with us. Samer was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2015, when he was hospitalized for a week after experiencing debilitating stomach pain. At the walk this year we will have live entertainment throughout the day including lots of children’s activities. Rain or shine, please join us on June 4, at Gibbons Park to help make life better for Samer and the 250 000 Canadians living with IBD.
